The challenge
The resort relied on Booking.com and Expedia for 82 % of bookings, paying up to 18 % commission per reservation. Their existing website had no booking engine, so guests who landed organically were pushed back to OTAs to complete reservations.
The solution
We self-hosted Cal.com — the open-source scheduling platform — on the resort's own infrastructure and extended it with a custom villa-availability calendar synced to their channel manager. Strapi manages all room descriptions, package content, and seasonal rates so marketing can update offers without a developer. A Stripe integration handles deposits directly, and a post-booking n8n sequence sends villa preparation checklists to housekeeping and a welcome itinerary to guests.
