Client:K-12 online tutoring platform · Saudi ArabiaYear:2024Industry:Education TechnologyDuration:12 weeks
  • mobile
  • education
  • saudi

Overview

Arabic-first progressive web app with AI tutor grounded in Ministry of Education 1446H curriculum, adaptive practice engine, and parent progress dashboard. Learner session length grows 2.3×; exam pass rates improve 24 percentage points across pilot schools.

The challenge

Saudi families were spending over SAR 400 per month per child on tutoring centres, yet pass rates on the Qudorat and Tahsili standardised exams remained stubbornly below 60% for mathematics and sciences. Existing EdTech apps were built around US or European curricula and required translation workarounds. The platform needed to work offline for rural areas with intermittent connectivity and feel culturally aligned to Saudi students including segregated learning environments.

The solution

Our approach

Lirevon ingested all 1446H curriculum PDFs from the Ministry of Education portal, built an Arabic-native chunking pipeline that preserves chapter and grade-level metadata, and grounded the Gemini tutor on this corpus. The adaptive engine tracks question-level mastery and surfaces weak-concept drills without waiting for a teacher to diagnose gaps. A parent dashboard sends weekly Arabic SMS progress reports. The PWA caches the entire active module set for offline use.

Outcomes

What we delivered

Average learner session length grew 2.3× compared to the preceding tutoring-centre benchmark

Exam pass rates improved by 24 percentage points across 6 pilot schools in the first semester

Parent re-subscription rate after the first month reached 81%, versus a 34% industry benchmark

Platform operates fully offline, serving 1,200 students in areas with under 2 Mbps connectivity

Client testimonial

“My daughter improved her maths grade by two levels in one semester. The AI explains concepts in the same way the Saudi curriculum frames them — not the American way.”
