The challenge
Bed managers logged turnovers on paper, heads of department submitted procurement requests by email, and the finance team spent six hours every Sunday pulling DHA KPI data from three separate systems to prepare the weekly executive report.
The solution
We built role-gated Appsmith pages for ward nurses (bed status forms), department heads (procurement request wizard), and the duty-roster manager (drag-and-drop shift planner). All data lands in a Supabase Postgres schema. A nightly n8n job calculates DHA KPIs and pushes them to the Metabase warehouse; Metabase's scheduled reports email the C-suite dashboard PDF every Sunday at 07:00. The open-source Appsmith and Metabase stack replaced three commercial SaaS tools, cutting annual software spend by 68 %.
