Overview

WooCommerce store migrated to a headless architecture with Arabic-first full-text search, Madrasati curriculum catalogue integration, school bulk-order portal, and STC Pay checkout. Organic traffic up 4× after Arabic search indexing; school contracts grew from 3 to 19 in one academic year.

The challenge

The bookstore had 11,000 Arabic-title SKUs but its WooCommerce search used English-tuned tokenisation, making Arabic queries return near-useless results. School procurement officers wanted a purchase-order workflow with VAT invoices and ministry-approved supplier codes — none of which WooCommerce supported without custom development. STC Pay — the dominant Saudi wallet — was not available as a native plugin.

The solution

Our approach

We exposed WooCommerce as a headless CMS via its REST API and built a Next.js 15 storefront with a Meilisearch index tuned for Arabic morphological analysis and Madrasati curriculum codes. A school portal built on Supabase allows procurement officers to build multi-line purchase orders, receive VAT-compliant PDF invoices, and track fulfilment against ministry delivery timelines. STC Pay was integrated via a custom WooCommerce gateway plugin.

Outcomes
