Overview

Arabic-first D2C store with AI room-visualiser (upload photo, place furniture), split-payment via Tamara, and Hijri-calendar sale events. Conversion rate 1.8% → 4.2%; average order value grows SAR 340.

The challenge

Zawaya was losing high-intent shoppers at the point of visualisation — customers could not picture how a sofa or bookshelf would look in their own space, leading to a 78% cart abandonment rate on items over SAR 1,000. Tamara's buy-now-pay-later was growing in popularity among Saudi consumers but had not been integrated. The site's promotional calendar used Gregorian dates, missing the cultural resonance of Ramadan, Eid, and National Day sale events.

The solution

Our approach

Lirevon integrated a client-side room-visualiser using Gemini Vision to segment the uploaded room photo and place a 2.5D product shadow on the detected floor plane. Tamara's payment API was embedded with automatic instalment calculation shown at the product-detail stage, not just checkout. A Hijri.js-powered promotional engine automatically activates pre-built sale banners and discount codes 72 hours before each major Islamic or Saudi national occasion.

Outcomes

What we delivered

Conversion rate grew from 1.8% to 4.2% after the room-visualiser launch, attributed primarily to high-AOV furniture categories

Average order value increased by SAR 340 as customers added complementary items to validated room compositions

Cart abandonment on items over SAR 1,000 dropped from 78% to 41%

Tamara instalment adoption reached 44% of all orders within 60 days, reducing purchase hesitation

Client testimonial

“The room visualiser changed everything. Customers send us photos of their majlis asking 'will this sofa fit?' and our bot answers instantly. Returns dropped and trust went up.”
