Overview

Vendure-based headless store with 4,200 SKUs, Arabic-first faceted search, KNET and Apple Pay at checkout, and an AI product-comparison assistant. Organic traffic doubles and conversion lifts from 1.8% to 3.9% within four months of launch.

The challenge

The retailer's WooCommerce site was timing out under peak load during back-to-school season, and the Arabic search was returning irrelevant results because the previous platform treated Arabic as a variant of English tokenisation. KNET — the dominant payment rail in Kuwait — was only available through a redirect that killed 34% of checkouts. A scalable headless architecture was needed to fix all three problems without losing existing SEO equity.

The solution

Our approach

We self-hosted Vendure with a custom Arabic-locale plugin that feeds a Meilisearch instance tuned for right-to-left morphological analysis. KNET was integrated as a native Vendure payment provider so transactions complete within the storefront iframe rather than redirecting. A Gemini-backed comparison assistant reads live product specs from Vendure's custom fields and explains trade-offs in plain Gulf Arabic.

Outcomes

Organic search traffic doubled within four months due to improved Core Web Vitals and Arabic-crawlable markup

Conversion rate grew from 1.8% to 3.9% after KNET checkout was embedded natively

Product-comparison assistant reduced support tickets about spec queries by 44%

Client testimonial

“The old site would go down every time a tech YouTuber mentioned us. Now it handles ten times the load and customers actually complete checkout with KNET.”
