Mazaya Modest Fashion

Client:Modest-wear multi-brand retailer · RiyadhYear:2025Industry:Fashion RetailDuration:10 weeks

Overview

Saleor-powered multi-vendor marketplace for modest fashion labels, extended with a Gulf-size-chart adapter, virtual try-on widget, and Tabby/Tamara BNPL checkout. Returns fall from 22% to 8% and repeat-purchase rate rises to 46% within six months.

The challenge

Three modest-fashion labels were sharing a single Shopify Plus plan, hitting variant limits and paying USD 2,400 per month in platform fees. Size inconsistency across brands was driving a 22% return rate — each label used a different sizing convention — and the absence of BNPL options was losing price-sensitive shoppers at checkout. The client needed a multi-vendor architecture that could scale to ten brands without proportional cost growth.

The solution

Our approach

We self-hosted Saleor on a managed Kubernetes cluster and extended its channel model so each brand operates an isolated catalogue while sharing checkout, loyalty, and fulfilment infrastructure. A custom Gulf-size-chart service normalises measurements across labels and recommends the correct size based on a two-question quiz. Tabby and Tamara were integrated via Saleor's payment-app API so BNPL appears natively at checkout without a redirect.

Outcomes

What we delivered

Returns dropped from 22% to 8% within three months, driven by the size normalisation engine

Repeat-purchase rate climbed to 46% at the six-month mark, up from 27%

Platform fees fell from USD 2,400 to USD 340 per month after migrating off Shopify Plus

Algolia-powered search raised add-to-cart rate by 31% compared to the previous native search

Client testimonial

“Three brands, one checkout, and size recommendations that actually work for Gulf bodies. Our return courier costs alone paid for the entire project in four months.”
